Where to find your NDC.
The NDC is the code that names your exact medication, down to the company that made it. Here is what it is, and where it lives.
The first group names the manufacturer. That is why two versions of the same drug have two different codes.
It is usually not on your prescription bottle
Your pharmacy label shows the drug name, its strength, your directions, and often the manufacturer. It usually does not show the NDC. The code is printed on the manufacturer's stock bottle, the large bottle the pharmacy pours from, which you do not take home.
How to get it
You have two simple options. Ask your pharmacist for the NDC of the product they dispensed — they can read it from their stock bottle in a moment. Or skip it entirely and search by the medication name and its manufacturer, both of which are on your label.
If the digits look different
The full code is eleven digits, in groups of five, four, and two. To save space a manufacturer may drop a leading zero from one group, so the same code can appear in a few shapes. You do not need to work that out. Enter what you see, and our search fills in the missing zero.
